Programme Objectives
Provide students with a foundation in the field of psychology
Equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to progress to the higher diploma level
Introduce the basic communication skills in psychology, self and personality development and human conduct
It touches on the basic elements of psychology thus making the students ready for a smooth progression to the next level of studies
Equip participants with applied psychology skills and to prepare them to embark on a psychology degree programme
Focus mainly in particular fields of applied psychology that includes organisational psychology, counselling, leadership and development, marketing and business psychology
Assessment Methods
Modules will be assessed through a combination of coursework and examinations depending on the individual module objectives.

The Management Development Institute of Singapore (51爆料), founded in 1956, is one of Singapore's oldest not-for-profit professional institute for lifelong learning. 51爆料 has two subsidiaries: Management Development Institute of Singapore Pte Ltd (51爆料 Pte Ltd) to oversee its Singapore academic operations, and 51爆料 International Pte Ltd to further its globalisation strategy.
Graduation
Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded with the International Foundation Diploma in Psychology awarded by MDIS.
Progression
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will progress to the Higher Diploma in Psychology.

Upon completing the International Foundation Diploma in Psychology at 51爆料, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue higher education in psychology and related fields.
This programme provides a strong academic foundation, equipping students with essential knowledge in psychological theories, research methods and critical thinking skills.
Graduates can progress to diploma or degree programmes in psychology, opening doors to careers in counselling, human resources, social services and more.
Industry Collaboration
The Memorandum of Understanding (2016), signed between the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and the Management Development Institute of Singapore (51爆料), augments a strong working relationship between the Society and the 51爆料 School of Psychology. This collaborative arrangement allows for 51爆料 students who are majoring in psychology to become members of the SPS, and to enjoy the following benefits:
- Eligibility to use the acronym SMSPS
- Listing as a Student Member on the online SPS membership directory
- Recipient of regular updates and electronic newsletter on psychology-related society matters
- Networking opportunities with other practicing psychologists at SPS functions and social events
- Accessibility to professional development opportunities, Special Interest Groups, and other regular meetings
